I have never been big on resolustions, but I am big on goals– I think maybe because they seem more action-oriented than a resolution. So as I was thinking about my goals for 2018 and areas of my life I want to work on, I looked down at my daughter’s headband, which was pineapples, and immediately had the phrase come to my mind:
As I thought about that, and how it encompasses body, mind, and spirit, I had this dream pop into my mind of a group of women working together on themselves to start 2018 off focusing on growing in those areas. Working on our health, fitness, nutrition, mindset, relationships, and most importantly, GRACE.
I am a type A, achiever, ennegram 3– you name it, if it needs to be perfect or meet expectations, you can sign me up. This past season of juggling all the things, doing life with two little kids and working on marriage, full time work, and more, it’s felt like a lot of burn out and not a lot of grace. I know for myself, working on the concept of perfection not equaling worthiness is something I really want to focus in on for 2018. Can you relate? Do you feel the need to stop and take a breath, put away the Instagram or Pinterest ideal, and simplify? Yay, we can be friends 😉
So anyways, that is the backstory….as I was mulling over this challenge I wanted to have us not ONLY focus on the nutrition and fitness side, but really dive into the heart stuff, so enter Grace not Perfection by Emily Ley– a book I’ve had on my list for months. It’s a faith-focused look at simplifying and diving into the grace lavishly extended to us. And YOU GUYS, when it came to my doorstep (Thanks Amazon prime!) I found out something so amazing– it has PINEAPPLES on EVERY page! How amazing is that? I literally had no idea what the cover looked like when I decided it was what I wanted to do, and when it showed up I had to tear up a little because it was such a confirmation of doing this group.
So let’s talk DETAILS:
- We’ll be kicking off January 8th with a prep week and then workouts/meal plans start January 15th
- We’ll be going through Grace Not Perfection together like a virtual book club/friend group
- I’ll be sharing daily motivation, meal plans, recipes
- We’ll be doing this program (although if you want something less intense we can chat about it!).
- It is an 80 Day commitment. It will be hard. But we can do hard things and we’re in it together!
