We’re in week three now! I wanted to give a quick update about this program so far and a couple things I’m learning.
1. I LOVE that it’s only 22 Minutes– seriously has been a lifesaver this week with my toddler being sick and work being busy to be in, out, and done that quickly. With that being said, I am drenched in sweat after 22 minutes, so you definitely work for it the whole time!
2. I have learned how well the Beachbody Performance line works. Doing Hammer and Chisel, I drank it the entire time and was rarely sore even though I was lifting heavy. This past week I ran out of the Recover formula and was SO SORE everywhere. Needless to say I was thrilled when it got here! I am glad that I got to see how much it does help with muscle soreness and recovery– it’s scary to think of how much pain I would’ve been in with Hammer and Chisel! Yikes!
4. This program has some funky moves: Bear Crawls, Water Bugs, Jimmy Jumps to name a few! I am grateful for the repetition of how you alternate a cardio/ab day with a resistance day since I finally feel a bit more coordinated with some of these newer moves.
3. Meal plans matter (duh!). My nutrition was not 100% on track last week and it felt chaotic– when life throws you some curve balls (in this case a sick kiddo and busy workweek) how do you stay on track? Preparation and support are critical, which is one reason I’m SO thankful for my challenge groups! This week that’s changing. No excuses. No cheats. When I don’t eat well I can feel it and you can’t out-workout a bad diet! Everything for this week was prepped and ready to go last night, so it feels so much more do-able! I love that this program uses the same container system as the 21 Day Fix and Hammer and Chisel programs– I’ve got this down now!
With that being said, our meal plan for this week is below.
