Guys– we are starting Hammer and Chisel TODAY!!! Garage workout went down this morning and we’re on track with our meal plans. I ordered the program this past week and seriously CAN NOT WAIT for it to get here…thankfully, Beachbody has a great on-demand option, so I’ve been able to get a jump start on the workouts, and I am SORE. I love that because I can feel that this program is going to really change me. Because I am coming into the program straight from the 21 Day Fix Extreme, I know I’m in good shape, but this is going to work muscles in a whole new way. One of my personal goals is to be able to do the pull-up moves by the end of the 60 days, so we’ll see how that goes. I will definitely be using the Beachbody Performance line to help with muscle recovery, because even though I’m in shape, I can tell I’m going to need it!
Ben and I are committed to doing the entire program for 60 days, so you can expect weekly updates on our progress, meal plans, and honest reviews. Here’s a couple sneak peeks of some of the moves– you can tell why it’s called Hammer and Chisel! Basically it gets your muscles hammered and then you use intense cardio and agility to lean and sculpt.
(Don’t be scared though– if you’re not at this level, you can still do it! There are modifications for the moves and for different equipment if you don’t have a bench or pull-up bar.)
If you’ve done the 21 Day Fix or 21 Day Fix Extreme, this meal plan will look familiar since it uses those handy color coded containers, but the difference is there are several different ways you can modify this program depending on if you’re wanting to lean, maintain and sculpt, or build muscle. I love that you can customize it to your goals.
I sat down last night and came up with this meal plan– I like to keep the first week or so of a new program pretty simple so that I can really get the hang of it, and then I start to branch out a little more with the recipes. I’m doing Plan A because I want to lean out a bit more, and then will move into more of a maintenance mode after that. Ben is doing it with me and we’ll be eating the same things, but he’s on Plan F– basically meaning he gets LOTS more protein, carbs (so jealous!), and veggies than I do, so he’ll be eating larger portions and adding some extras.
