We are officially on our last week of Hammer and Chisel– but we are keeping it up because we love it. Starting next week, we’ll be incorporating in the deluxe add-on workouts– so we will be continuing to see changes over the next few weeks.
We have the benefit of using our garage for our workouts– I’ll do a post in more detail on this later, but it’s been great because Caleb can come hang out with us, and we have no excuses on why we can’t get it done, don’t have to pay gym fees, and get world-class trainers in our home! The mats are actually horse stall mats that we’ve gotten from Wilco as they’ve gone on sale, and we’ve slowly built up the equipment we have. There are great modifications for all of the moves in this program though, so if you don’t have a full gym set-up, you can still get a killer workout.
I personally saw the biggest increase in the weights I was able to use this week. I started the program using a range of 3 lbs-20 lbs depending on the move, and am now 5 lbs- 35 lbs. I love that while you do lift heavy, you are incorporating cardio in some for into most of the workouts, so you never bulk up too much (which is great because I tend to do that!). This is a great example of it– kettlebell swings with 35 lbs for a full minute. You feel it everywhere and your heart rate climbs!
The meal plan this week is below– you can click it to enlarge it! The key to this system is taking the time to plan it out– you can wing it if you want, but you won’t get the same results with nutrition. I’ve personally loved that I’m eating every couple hours and can tell that my metabolism has definitely been impacted by that– in a good way! I take time each night or early morning, to pack up my snacks for work (or will keep them in the fridge at work), and prep the veggies for dinner the night before as well. It takes a little time, but pays off in the end for sure!
My next Challenge Group will be kicking off soon and I’d love to have you join or get more information on it! We share meal plans, recipes, motivation, and keep one-another accountable. It’s a lot of fun! Fill out the form here for more information:
