Oh boy! Can I just say how excited I am that it’s Monday and we just finished out Hammer and Chisel workout for today? No, really! I have been in a workout rut for a while doing the 21 Day Fix Extreme (which I love!) and it feels so good to use my muscles in new ways! Plus, I have this great guy partnering with me which makes it even better!
So here’s the week one review from both our perspectives:
Ben- SO MANY VEGGIES! I am on meal plan F and so I eat lots of food! I stay full all day and feel great. I didn’t know if I’d like doing workouts to a tv, but the coaches are great. I come from a trained lifting background and appreciate that Autumn and Sagi focus on good technique and do a variety of legitimate lifts. The workouts are short but because they work in isometric training and stacked sets, you feel the burn– like a two hour burn in about 30 minutes.
Abby- I LOVE this program so far. I may have thought I wouldn’t be able to finish a couple of the moves but I did and can totally feel results. I am down 3 lbs (I am on the lean plan– A) and can already tell I’m getting more muscle definition. I already knew I loved Autumn’s style as a trainer from the 21 Day Fix programs, but she’s even better in this and Sagi cracks me up. I can tell that I won’t bulk in this program but will get a lot stronger. Even though I’ve been sore everyday, it hasn’t been terrible and I think that’s in big part due to the Beachbody Performance Line. They definitely have helped get me fired up to life at 6 AM and I know are definitely helping my muscles be WAY less sore than they would be otherwise.
Overall Review: This program is awesome and really challenging! Because you are doing a different workout each day, your muscles get worked in new ways and you don’t get bored. This is not a program for someone who is brand new to fitness because it is pretty intense!
Meal Plan: We kept to the meal plan almost to a T this week. The weekends we had a scheduled in cheat meal, but otherwise have stayed true to what we had planned– and the key really is planning so that you know exactly what you’re eating and when. It’s really a simple meal plan but if you’re new to this type of planning or program can take a bit to get used to. Here’s my meal plan for the week– like before, because Ben is doing Plan F, he adds several more containers to his day, but we just add them to snacks and meals, or he gets bigger portions.
