Well this post is a couple days late because April is crazy busy at work with students deciding where they are going to end up next year and making final college decisions. PLUS we decided to make it even more fun by throwing in the flu or food poisoning or maybe both that all three of us in the house caught in some form or another, so it’s felt a little chaotic! I honestly think if my workouts were longer than 22 minutes right now they would not be getting done, so this program is perfect!
Week 5 was the toughest so far– you incorporate more of the Special Ops workouts and the level 3 cardio and resistance ones as well– and you can definitely tell a big difference in difficulty between those and the first two levels! The Special Ops workouts are optional, but I like a challenge so I incorporate them on the days they are listed. This week also incorporated Core 2– it has all the same moves as Core 1 but instead of doing 11 reps of each, you do 22 reps, which makes it SO much harder! I couldn’t finish each round but am excited to see improvement there as well. The Special Ops Core routine is also really tough– especially when you add in a two year old who thinks you’re actually playing “bridge” instead of doing a plange push-up!
I did stay really on track with the meal plan this week and am down five pounds from when I started– I am not trying to lose weight with this program, but it is always amazing to me to see the results you get once you actually dial in nutrition and maximize your workouts even when they are short! You can’t out work poor nutrition, so if you want to see results, you have to stick to the program and stick to your meal plan– I’ve learned that the hard way!
Below is our meal plan for the week. I’ll be gone for a quick work trip so have mixed things up a bit in terms of my rest day and food but have learned that Shakeology packets and planning ahead keeps me on track!
